Certified Veterinary Technician
Carolyn is pursuing her second career at IWVC. In 1979 she graduated from Towson University with a Master’s degree in Psychology. After 20 years of helping people cope with life, she turned her attention to the animal world. She received an Associates’ degree in Veterinary Technology in 2000 and joined IWVC shortly thereafter.
Not surprisingly, Carolyn has many occasions to make use of her background in psychology, dealing with stressed or grieving clients. Her calm and caring manner helps get them through the rough times. Although she enjoys client contact, Carolyn especially likes surgical nursing, where she gets to use the various skills she has learned in school and on the job.
Carolyn’s husband Jon is a clinical psychologist. Her daughter Anna works for a health management company and lives in Arlington, VA. with her husband Ben who is employed by the Department of Justice and their son Jonah, who was born in 2013. Carolyn’s son Joe completed his doctoral studies in Social Psychology at the University of Minnesota and is now a full time professor at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.
Carolyn has 5 rescue cats: Cody, Sydney, Tucker, Sadie and Mia.
In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys playing tennis, gardening and travel. She has made three World Vets sponsored trips; to Ecuador, Honduras and Albania to participate in mass spay/neuter programs.
